QuickStart Web3 Guide
Smithonia is filled with an abundance of things for intrepid adventurers to explore in this dark fantasy ecosystem. Although we plan on streamlining the steps necessary to begin adventuring in this entrancing universe, as well as adding Free-to-Play/Web2 options, they are still being constructed and aren’t quite ready yet.
As such, this Quick-start guide will help players navigate the beginner's game loop and get started in the game so that they can begin to enjoy the magic as soon as possible.
Step 1: Follow us on Social Media
The first thing new adventurers will want to do is ensure they are connected to all of our social profiles. We use these channels to distribute information about the game which will include things such as new releases, competitions, tournaments, NFT mints, partnerships, and game development information.
Furthermore, adventurers will want to keep an eye on our Zealy campaign where you can earn XP by completing specific quests. We will be rewarding members on our leaderboard with exclusive prizes indefinitely into the future.
Step 2: Connect with Web3
Smithonia is on the L2 Ethereum rollup chain Arbitrum, which provides us with numerous benefits such as low gas fees, fast transaction times, and reliability.
1. To participate in the Web3 side of Smithonia, players will need to have Ethereum bridged over to Arbitrum.
This can be done via the main Arbitrum bridge or several third party solutions can be utilized. Alternatively, Ethereum can be purchased on Arbitrum via a CEX such as Coinbase and sent directly to the player’s wallet. No matter which route is chosen to complete this link, players will simply need to ensure that the Arbitrum network is visible within their wallet so they can see their Ethereum when it arrives.
2. Learn about our NFTs
Currently, there are three primary NFT collections within Smithonia: the Living Weapons, the Pickaxes, and the Legacy Passes. These collections will continue to expand in the future.
Living Weapons are key to a player’s capability and success in the game, read more about them here. Meanwhile, the Pickaxes allow players to collect the resources needed to succeed in Smithonia; learn more about them here. 3. Purchase NFTs on TreasureDAO using $MAGIC (for now).
To purchase these NFTs, players have to first ensure they have the cryptocurrency token, $MAGIC. (This is currently temporary until $SGC and Smithonia’s Store are up and running.) Players can purchase $MAGIC on any major CEX, such as Coinbase, or any major DEX, such as Hashflow.
After players have acquired $MAGIC, they can go to the TreasureDAO Trove website and purchase a smithy weapon, a pickaxe, and a legacy pass.
Step 3: Join the Adventures!
From here, players are ready to begin their adventure in Smithonia! Mint your own brand-new Pickaxe and join the party in Firestone Mine, now live!
